Spring Photography Contest

Contest Rules

All hand-delivered and mailed entries must be received no later than April 26th at:

Entries by mail will be accepted but will not be returned by mail to owners. Mail entries must be postmarked no later than April 20th .

Entries may be picked up from 5:30 to 7:00 Saturday, May 1st (after the reception) or between Noon and 2 pm Sunday, May 2nd at the Dawson Co-Op Conference Center, 711 Clinton Street, Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

A reception and awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 1st from 3 to 5 pm at the Dawson Co-Op Conference Center, 711 Clinton Street, Arkadelphia.

Work may be in any photographic style - realistic, contemporary, or abstract. All photographic media is acceptable. Entries must be original and the photographer's own work. Entries will be disqualified and prize forfeited if they are shown to be copies.

All photographs must be mounted on foam core or 4-ply mounting board. Minimum size for entry is 5x7 inches mounted and matted to 8x10 inches. Maximum size is 11x17 inches mounted and matted to 16x20 inches. Shrink-wrap covers, glass or other covers, frames, metal hooks, and metal clips may Not be used.

In addition to the information on the entry form, all work must be labeled on the back with the following:

Title
Entry Category
(Write Youth if age 12-17)
Price (if for sale)
Artist Name
Phone Number
Email

Both members and non-members may enter a maximum of three entries. Any category with less than 5 entries by different photographers will not be judged and the entry fee will be refunded.

The Caddo River Art Guild reserves the right to reject any entry, including those that fail to follow the contest rules or any entry whose subject matter may be deemed by contest officials to be unsuitable for exhibition in a family environment.

There will be two Divisions, Youth and Adult. The Youth Division (ages 12 -17) will not be divided into Categories. The Adult Categories are as follows:

A. Landscapes
B. Animals
C. Still life and floral
D. People and portraits

Any work that has been previously shown in any Caddo River Art Guild judged show may not be entered again. All work must remain on display at the Dawson Co-Op Conference Center until the specified pick-up times.

Entry Fees:

A. Adult Caddo River Art Guild (CRAG) members $7.00 per entry for a maximum of 3 entries.
B. Adult Non-Members $10.00 per entry for a maximum of 3 entries.
C. Youth (12-17) $7.00 per entry for a maximum of 3 entries.

The artist will be paid 80% of the price on any item sold. Pricing should take this into consideration. Checks to the artists will be mailed within two weeks following the sale date.

Prizes for each category in the Adult Division are:

First Place $100.00
Second Place $ 50.00
Third Place $ 35.00

Prizes for the Youth Division (ages 12 - 17) are:

First Place $100.00
Second Place $ 50.00
Third Place $ 35.00

(Note: The Youth Division is not divided into entry categories.)

The prize for Best of Show is $250.00 and will be awarded to the judge's selection regardless of Division or category.
