Jerry Burrow obtained a BSE in Art Education at Henderson State University in 1973. He first started teaching in the Arkadelphia public school system during the 1974/1975 school year. He later moved to Little Rock and taught Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising at South Central Career College. He also worked at the Design Exchange in North Little Rock during this period. In 1980 he was the owner and principle designer for J.L. Burrow, Inc., Custom Interior Design.
In 2004 Jerry closed his successful business so that he could return to his hometown of Arkadelphia and to his first love of teaching. Jerry taught Art K-6 and was Dean of Students in the Delight Public School System for 10 years. He retired in May of 2015 and now devotes his time to creating art and gardening.
Jerry works in a variety of art mediums including his new passion of enameling, which is melting glass designs onto metal using high heat. He also enjoys working in pottery, collage, box sculpture, fused glass and encaustic oil painting, in which the artist paints with hot wax and oil pigment to create a finished painting.
