Rosie grew up in Jacksonville and moved to Arkadelphia after meeting her husband at Ouachita Baptist University. Rosie started weaving in 1988 when a friend invited her to join other friends making baskets. Rosie didn’t really get started weaving until later when she went to her first convention, where she realized there were tools made just for basket weaving, and discovered sources for basket materials.
After retiring in 2014 there was more time to devote to basket weaving. In 2015 she became a member of the Caddo River Art Guild and has enjoyed sharing and teaching her basket making with others in basket weaving classes and workshops. She also continues to take more advanced classes to learn new techniques and learn how to work with different materials.
